Unit 5 session 1: Past simple questions

Hi kids!

Comenzamos con la unidad 5, en este tema aprenderéis un poco más sobre el Simple Past, en concreto a hacer preguntas y a contestarlas. Veréis que hay dos tipos de preguntas:

YES/NO QUESTIONS (la respuesta es sí o no)

INFORMATION QUESTIONS (la respuesta requiere más información)

Simple Past Questions

Recordad que:

• La fórmula para preguntar yes/no questions es  DID + SUJETO + VERBO SIMPLE + RESTO DE ORACIÓN. Por ejemplo "Did they watch the TV yesterday".
• Para contestar yes/no questions: YES, (SUJETO) DID / NO, (SUJETO) DIDN'T. Por ejemplo: "Yes, they did / No, they didn't".
• Para hacer information questions, será esta estructura: PALABRA DE WH- (ej, "What") + DID + SUJETO + VERBO SIMPLE + RESTO DE ORACIÓN.
• Las respuestas de las "information questions" son más complejas, y se caracterizan por seguir la estructura SUJETO + VERBO EN PASADO SIMPLE + RESTO DE ORACIÓN. Por ejemplo: "What movie did they watch? They watched Toy Story".

Let's do some practice!

1. Clasifica estas preguntas según sean "yes/no questions" o "information questions".

1. Did she eat some pasta yesterday?
2. Did you see Peter on Skype?
3. What did we do this morning?
4. Did he talk to Sandra?
5. Where did you go last year?

2. Ordena las palabras de las siguientes preguntas, todas son "yes /no questions":

1. afternoon / book / read / you / Did / a /  the / in / ?
2. online / they / Did / trivial / play / ?
3. brother / rainbow / Did / a / draw / your / ?
4. with / speak / family / she / her / Did / ?

3. En estas preguntas hay algo incorrecto, dí qué es. Attention! Hay una correcta:

1. Did you went to the cinema last month?
2. Did she liked the book?
3. Did you write the email?
4. Did they saw my keys?
